It’s been a year of major change for My Dye Garden Studio. In October, 2025, we signed the lease on our beautiful new studio and teaching space on Rittenhouse Street, in the Historic Germantown section of Philadelphia. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of renovations, establishing our new dye garden, and warming up every corner of the new space with the things we make, the colors we create, and all the people who have shown up to support us. There aren’t enough words to express our gratitude.
Our core collection of plant dyed materials, curated with our fellow makers & teachers in mind:
Plant dyes adore silk, with its soft, natural texture and ethereal sheen. Comparable to size 5 perle cotton, these threads will bring beauty to all of your handwork projects, along with a tangible connection with nature.

Who says you can’t knit socks in summer? This heavenly soft and smooth cotton is a great choice for any warm weather garment. It’s also perfect for glowing star mats, net bags, and warm-climate hats. The exceptionally long fibers soak up plant dyes and makes them gleam! Super long Pima fibers add durability, without bulk.

Merino Wool Felt
This soul nurturing blend has a gorgeous rustic look, and a super soft zero-itch feel. The earthy base has a unique relationship with plant color, giving it a soft, heathered glow. My students are using this yarn for socks right now and I have never been happier with the results.

This kit was designed with handwork teachers, homeschoolers, and students of all ages in mind. Consider it a portal to a new way of connecting with nature, color and your own creativity.
The kit includes: dried cosmos, marigold, dyer’s chamomile and/or coreopsis flowers, madder root, weld flowers & stalks, osage sawdust, and black walnut hulls. Cochineal extract, iron, and indigo fill out the palette for you to create your own 25+ color collection.
An easy to follow guide is included to get you started.
Mordants for protein or cellulose fibers are available separately, or choose from our selection of pre-mordanted yarns, silk threads and wool felt.
